Not Ghetto Mess
Hey Congress…Quit messing with the Internet
January 18, 2012
A number of websites have taken a stand today against the latest attempts to silence the internet. If you don’t know anything about it, check out the two troublesome bills SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) in both the House and the Senate. The powers that be, i.e. dudes with a boatload of cash aka 1%-ers, are trying to convince Congress to pass this legislation. If you don’t think this effects you…then just imagine an internet without free knowledge, Youtube or even Hot Ghetto Mess.
Thanks to those sites who took a stand today. Pay attention folks…because this is real!! Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

I personally don’t care either way. I like the freedom of speech, Hell, Damn,Shit…see, but have you seen 2 Girls 1 Cup? I wanted to buss a cap in my own computer. Freedom of expression/speech has gone to far and we need to be put in check. The world is already on it’s way to Hell, but maybe we can slow down it’s trajectory a bit.

Mallory why didn’t you just turn it off? Don’t be so quick on the trigger my man thats some ghetto type shit to shoot your own computer goddamn . BTW how many times did you watch?

Mallory, I wonder if u understand exactly what these people r trying to do (I mean cause u say u dont care either way). Granted, ur eyes would be protected from videos like 2 girls 1 cup (that was nasty) but u’d also not be able to look stuff up on Wikipedia, u can’t watch music videos on youtube, this very site would probably have to be removed…..and the list goes on. The internet, that u probably use everyday, would suddenly become EXTREMELY limited in terms of what u can do. All of a sudden, u’d care.

No doubt. Anything deemed “offensive” (and that descriptor can be used by ANYbody about ANYthing) can be restricted and/or banned. It doesn’t take much to imagine how far this can go.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed. — Herman Melville
