As a parent myself, I have instilled good moral values in my children, taught them to be respectful to adults, ruled with an iron fist. That has nothing to do with how our children turn out, they have their own personalities and they go their own way, because they think they know more than their parents. The children in this society have to many influences over them, when the only influence should be their parents, but we don’t live in a perfect world. No matter what we do as parents our children have their own WILL. I have never done half the things my children have done in their lifetime, but I know I raised my children to be upstanding, law abiding, productive people in this world-I work everyday and provided a good place for them. If they decide to go and do some stupid shit like this, it is their own fault. I never uphold mine when they are wrong, and I don’t lie for them. Perfect example, my 16 year old son was placed on probation,he continued to skip school and not obey my rules-so I called his probation officer, and we went before the judge and I told them to lock his ass up, cause I don’t have time to be raising nobody that don’t want to listen to me, thank God he got his act together and brought them damn grades up.Sometimes parents feel the more they teach their kids, the dumber they get;hopefully these children will see the error of their ways and get it together. But, if not it is not always the parents fault.

Yeah, I read this and was completely shocked by the story. I think what I found most shocking is the fact that the grandmother swears her granddaugther is a good girl and would never have thought about doing this on her own. She says it was the friend’s idea all along and her granddaughter was just a follower. Am I missing something here what happen to right is right and wrong is wrong. Even if it was not the girls idea the fact that she followed along with the crazy friend is plain wrong, but the grandmother does not see it that way. This is a clear case of folks not accepting responsibility for their actions and blaming the next person. Just sad!

Too many times parents are not willing to see their children for what they may be, and will defend them right, and most importantly WRONG. First of where is these kids mothers? Its a shame that extended families have to raise thier grandkids, neices, nephews, etc. You lay down and get pregnant, you should cut the bull shit, spend time with your kids, play with them, teach them morals. What happened to keeping tabs on our kids? How could you not know? I am a single mother of 4 boys. I was raised in an undisciplined house & made many mistakes, but my mother always knew how to get in contact with me, who I was with, and most importantly, what I was doing. I rule my house with a harder hand. Just the other day my 5 year old tried stealing from the store we were at, but when we were leaving I noticed he was acting funny, so I checked his pockets and there was the unbought candy. I told him what he did wrong and why, and marched his little a** back into the store (it was crowded), made him give it back and he knew to apologize. Even if we aren’t the perfect role models, we still need to try harder for these kids. We owe it to them.

Everyone should be investigated, who decided they were going to rent out an apartment to teens in the first place. The prostitutes had to go along with the pimps in order for there to be a business. Prostitution is a crime and all of them are kids, so why is only the pimps guilty. I am a black woman and I don’t believe (to all my black people) that its unruly black children, because white kids are out of control too, they deal mainly in drugs and suicides, but they are out of control. People need to set a foundation of values for their kids and instill it in them. Teach them to love and respect themselves amd they will do the same for others. The case is deeper than teens pimping, they rented an apartment unlawfully, were their grown men sleeping with these girls? If those girls are charged everyone involved in anyway should be charged. And to trail those girls as adults is crazy, people get away with a lot worse. They should be punished of course. But their lives shouldn’t be snatched away because of it.

The story mentioned one of the girls had once had a pimp. I am willing to bet that she still had a pimp who rented the apartment and used the two girls to recruit the others. Usually teens who are prostitutes were recruited by other females. Rather than immediately charging them as adults, find out if they too are victims. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a pimp who released a prostitute from his clutches so that she could become a pimp also.
