Chi_cay- get a clue. First, I’m not your son. I’m a woman. Second, if you are a male, did you play with toy guns or toy soldiers? Did you try to pretend to play war or shoot em ups with your friends? And if you play any video game that advocates violence then you are just as guilty as her parents or relatives. No matter what the history of the country is preparing this beautiful little baby to be a martyr is not cool. Women are not respected in places where honor killings abound and a way to chastise a woman is to throw acid in her face. Women are treated like propery.

As far as cheap plastic toys are concerned, well, if that’s all that you can afford to buy your children, I feel for them. I was talking more about GI Joe dolls and the accessories to go with them. Also, violent video games are conducive to riling up the violent tendencies in children. I mean, I get your point as far as we Americans don’t purposely let our children play with toy weapons of violence to prepare them for a life of violence. However, we are influencing them on a more subliminal level. And if you say this is not so then how do you explain American children bringing real weapons to school or the violence that goes on in American schools? From the hollywood blockbuster war movies, to cartoons, toys, videogames, the miseducational system and easy access to guns. Children in america are just as big a pawn, as the children in other countries. The only difference is the kids in third world countries, arent as brainwashed. How is it that black children are murdered everyday in america, with automatic weapons, at the hands of other black children? Where did those guns come from, and why does a 14 yro have access to it..? You know, you all are taking this way TOO serious. Why is it that “we” are so highly concerned with the little girl on the picture and have so many belittling things to say towards one another about it BUT we have very little to say about our own youth violence in America. I am not necessarily taking either side of this issue but, I must say that calling each other Oreos (which sounds racist) and, other names as such, is taking this to the extreme. No matter how you spin it, the fact remains the same. It is wrong. It makes no difference whether it was done in Palestine, Iraq, Brazil, California, New Jersey, Italy, or Peru. It’s still WRONG. And as far as the GI JOE and cops and robbers go, that has little or no influence on what a child does or turns out to be. I’m willing to bet 5 to 1, that Ab. Lincoln, MLK, Rosa Parks, & Barack Obama played some sort of game to that affect. It is not what they do per say, it’s all about how you, as a parent, raise them. If we put this much energy into trying to stop violence in our own country, America would be a totally different place today.
