I think I get it. Through out music history a few artist have gone for unique look to go with thier distinct style of song. Michael Jackson sang something different and dared to dress like no one else did (that worked out well for him). Andre 3000 from Outkast, rocked a never before seen space funk type look to go along with his soundz (worked for hin too)and others have done it.
