LOL!!! Not really getting where hygiene comes in at in this. Maybe we should try to remember that the practice of shaving underarms is more an American female thing. Folks from most cultures on the planet don’t practice it (and men from this culture don’t either), and it doesn’t make them nasty. Now, if she’s going around stinking from not keeping herself clean, that’s a different argument. But the presence of a little underarm hair, while not necessarily attractive to some Americans (including myself), is not in and of itself an indicator of nastiness. Are women nasty when they don’t shave their pubics? Or, are men nasty because they don’t, as a rule, shave their underarms? Of course not. They wash, put on deodorant (I hope) and go on about their business. There are some real issues going on in the black community. Namely a spike in the proliferation of morbid obesity, the likes of which my people have never experienced. From all indications this woman, thankfully, doesn’t appear to suffer from that, at least. I’d cut her some slack. Now the eye makeup? Different story.

I agree with Xavier. The shaving the underarm thing is an American issue. I don’t understand how hygiene plays into it at all. Either you’re keeping yourself clean or you aren’t regardless of whether you have hair under your arms. Its not a hygiene issue.

I agree. The main thing I see going on on this site – and in the ghetto – thats a real problem is rampant, spiraling obesity levels even in the kids. This young lady doesn’t look too bad in that respect. Other than that most of the other stuff everybody seems to make a big deal over is mostly cosmetic.
