We got a brand new, funky PRESIDENT!!! I read someone (I was watching online) say the world will be the same tomorrrow – my answer was: No slave descendent’s life will ever be the same again – mission (Historically) accomplished. When the constitution was written, a black man’s worth was considered to be three-fifths of a white man…today’s events prove that once again, America is where dreams come true – you guys may be down, but you are so far away from out…I can’t thank God enough…

I just don’t see it, does having a black president mean we have arrived? its just another step…If you feel we have arrived I need you to go the projects, or check out what the gangs are doing today….

Roger its obvious you cant read! Just cause the site’s name is HGM aint mean all pictures on this site are HGM, the tag on the picture says NG. If you’re reasonable able you should be able to deduce from you atom cell brain that this aint Ghetto. You;re the one that needs to bury ur head in between your thigh and suck ur d**k

Roger, please learn to how to read, as well as your colors: Not Ghetto is blue, Hot Ghetto is Red. Obviously you’re not that much of a visitor to this site. I co-sign to anti-roger totally.

I wouldn’t say that we have arrived, but we are becoming that much closer to looking at the positives of our African-American-ness. The last few months have proven that when we stick together, work together, and believe in common and positive goals, we can achieve anything! This is about re-evaluating our collective worth, our history, and focus on making this future better not just for us as African Americans, not just for us as a nation, but for the world.

I’d much rather cling to the positive images and help out the next person, rather than sticking to that old and tired crabs-in-a-barrel mentality; I can’t wait for the day when my brothers and sisters do the same. We can’t unite by tearing down the next man who is trying hard to make himself better. We can’t do positive and say negative or vice-versa.

Embrace the beauty of times to come! This is just the beginning and it won’t be easy, but it’ll be a lot more bearable if we can learn to care for our neighbors like we care for ourselves. People have given their lives for this day. Please don’t let it be for naught.

This is the year where we (blacks) need to stop being such a mess….We can embrace our heritage and our uniqueness without being such clowns and buffoons….

Take a step back and look at yourself…we have come to far..time to step up….

    @ sufferkate:

I, for one, will be overjoyed when ignorant and idiotic people like yourselves choke on the bile of your own hatred. You should be thankful you can see the back end of anything. If you do not like him, you don’t have to look at him either way. You could always gouge out your own eyes. You and your comment are a Hot Ghetto Mess.

I say we have arrived. How much more free can one race get. Now dont get me wrong, because I am african american too. I dont like the term black. Yeah there’s still gangs and projects and homeless people, etc., but that is not only President Obama’s job. We ( us “black” folk) need to stop hating on each other. Reach out to someone less fortunate than you for no reason at all. Don’t always look for monetary compensation. Because the gratification you feel in your heart after helping someone is worth far more money than you can even dream of. But we put each other down, turn each other down, keep each other down, improvement starts within—not with Barack Obama.

I’m loving all the reflection on this page. I’m not sure why Frank sees us as buffons – if you see that, then that’s what you project to others. I am proud and from the ghetto. The ghetto happened to me, I didn’t make it. Economy affects the education you have, your health what you wear. And different races come from ghettoes too. The ‘buffoonery’ is more to do with personal ignorance – but then look at assholes like the last president – not ghetto (maybe)but certainly a buffoon!

Don’t take on anybody else’s shame. You are now a member of a society where people are supposed to be judged by deeds, not colour, according to your new Commander-In-Chief.

The best you can do is lead by example – people emulate what they admire. Others are just ignorant and you can’t help because they don’t want your help – you have been reading some of the arguments on this website right?

  • frank says:

I didn’t mean in anyway that a person from the Ghetto is a buffoon, I was raised in the ghetto as well, what I meant was that many of the pictures posted that are ghetto messes are buffoons….posing with your baby giving gang signs is a buffoon, flashing your ass is being a buffoon. that is what I meant…you are right being from the ghetto does not make you ghetto…and being from middle class does not make you better than anyone from the ghetto…thanks for allowing me to clear the air…

The beauty of President Barack Obama’s Inauguration, *for Me* was being able to witness the rainbow of supporters who traveled by plane, train, boat, automobile – and many miles on foot – to SEE this DREAM manifest. Just look at the millions of people.

TV Viewers saw nothing but happy tears, smiles and expressions of pure, unbridled joy on the faces of people in attendance.

How can We NOT rise to the occasion, and do OUR part to help facilitate CHANGE?!
