We can’t sit here and call them bad parents just because they have a bottle of booze. My relatives had wine around me when I was little but I knew not to drink it. We all need a drink once in a while.

Also, i will say that i am always happy to put a happy family photo up. BUT, i do think we should think about the example we set for young people by our behavior. There is nothing about adults drinking that is wrong– its just when you glamorize in front if kids, it teaches them them that it is how you have fun. And I just think that mama or grandmama should think twice about how they can influence their kids by it.
I drink with the best of them, but when im around kids, im low key and Im certainly not holding bottles of liquor up when i take a pic with them. But thats just me.

What in the Huxtable hell is this? I had to look real close and make sure it wasn’t one of my old school family portraits before I said something. We had a serious habit of taking classy pictures such as this one. Nobody had a Crown Royal bag so I’m good. Dirty south represent!

Back in the day, kids grew up around all KINDS of things that people think are dangerous today.
Teaching your kids how to prepare food with sharp knives, etc. is your job if you want them to be safe.
So is teaching them that if they drink, they should do it responsibly – give granny a break – she isn’t sitting drunk in the gutter in front of the kids, is she?
