I can see why someone might think these ladies look busted…..but there might be another explanation.
I am from the Caribbean and their outfits look very much like the type of outfits people there wear for a once-a-year celebration called Carnival. The closest thing to Carnival in the US is Mardi Gras. However, many many other nations recognize Carnival, like Brazil and Trinidad most famously. It’s basically a long party where traditionally, people indulge before giving up everything for lent. The religious aspect is mostly diminished now and it’s just one big party.
Anyway, people who participate in the festivities are part of “troupes”, which is basically your crew. And your troupe has themes and costumes to go with them. and usually they are CRAZY looking costumes. People from all walks of society join troupes, from doctors and lawyers to politicians and teachers to construction workers and so on. And they all wear wild costumes like these. And during carnival parades, it’s normal.
The costumes these ladies have on pale in comparison to those I have grown up seeing, and it has never seemed ghetto, or weird. Sexually charged, definitely, but not ghetto. They look like they might be prepping for a troupe rehearsal or getting their costumes together. I can’t say for sure whether this is the case, but it’s a possibility, and is worth considering before judging them. -
