I always say; Just Be Yourself ! OK, maybe you might need to wig it up SOMETIMES, but I think NATURAL IS ALWAYS BETTER, wearing WEAVES/WIGS/BRAIDS/EXTENTIONS/COLORING etc. ALL THE TIME, is not good. ( I DO IT TOO ) But the min. somebody sees you without your “HAIR” up to par, it’s like OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS SHE THINKING ! And in THIS case, she’s a GAZILLIONARE, Im sure she has a PERSONAL HAIRSTYLIST ! or a SCARF ? just a bad hairday, I guess.

To Frank: the ownership has remained the same for the last five years. And I find it interesting that everyone else can get their weave talked about, but when its Beyonce, its sooo unacceptable. Of course she’s not a literal “hot ghetto mess” thats understood, a lot of the things on the site are not–but the pics are mess-worthy for whatever reason or maybe they’re just funny.
I think there’s enough garden variety mess to insure the mission of the site has not changed a bit. I gotta work with what i got. Don’t be so hard on a sista. sheesh.

Well, I don’t subscribe to the hatin’ this or hatin’ that talk, but I’ll say this, when a public figure you have probably never met bothers you to the point that you “hate” to hear their name, the thought of that person, or your comments about them exude “hate”, then there is something in you that is not good, as it pertains to that person, and my guess is, it’s “hate”…So call it what you want, but know that a person’s words define much of who they are and what they are about. So if you don’t want to be called a hater, then don’t speak hatred through your words and actions!…it’s really that simple!

being a man, i am very visual in regard to the female, lady person. i am not color struck like some people-light skin, dark meat doesn’t matter. all the chemicals in the hair and the painted faces are way too time consuming and costly. i do care about maintaining an ideal weight and bathing daily. even if you have to fake it, speak with confidence and articulate your thoughts. beyon’ce is not the black female ideal, but neither is she the slovenly obese “ghetto speak” heifer that wonders why she can’t get/keep a man.

Cmo is exactly on point. In 2009 the desire to redefine our hair is as strong as ever. Attempting to be a strong, “black” woman is always offset by the need to have straight hair(along with other, supposedly desirable, caucasian features). The aggressive need to extinquish hereditary features is usually masked as just, “tellin’ it like it is”. I’m from an earlier time when the pressure to look less than “black” was the law and the way of the African American…and I STILL loved the way my beautiful sistas looked. We used to wear Afros. Stay off Beyonce…there’s nothing there to correct.
