Much RESPECT to the QUEEN OF SOUL. I grew up listening to her music, and still listen to it today. I’m just glad to see she’s still here. We have lost a lot of the greats. Issac Hayes, Levy Stubbs, James Brown, Tyrone Davis..and on. I’m talkin MUSIC here people!

Interesting comment from you Mike B….1. they never dressed like this…they were hwp, they weren’t in the industry..they were business owners however and they are both deceased!!!

Aretha still looks good as far she is not old and dried up looking. Weight is something that can be changed,just like clothes. I don’t like her choice in clothes,but she can pass because she does look age appropriate and she isn’t doing anything unseemly in this pic.Clowning on her is like cracking on your Granny.You know GRANNY BE WRONG sometimes,but you know you better come correct when addressing her cause if not “That’s your ASS, Mr.Postman.” You know she don’t play that. I live in metro Detroit and love Aretha Franklin see her around town a lot but she is a true country ass woman. She gives very nice parties where she serve smothered chitlings, greens,hot water corn bread, ox tail soup she can cook…. Aretha is a very nice person she has some stories to tell about the music industry…she does a lot of free concerts here in Detroit for the church people so I am not going to rip on her because she does good work. She has two sons over 50 years old and she has grand kids.

Most of us Black Folks have a heavy relative OR maybe we’re the ones heavy ? If someone went hard on our relatives, we would be ready to kill them. Well, I’m old school too, and I love Aretha’s singing talent, songs, and character, and her weight is not an issue for me!….that being said, Aretha has never been one that should be consulted for fashion advice!….I’m just sayin!….her choice of wearing animal prints and furs, has never been a good idea, and is even more so these days, with the likes of P.E.T.A. and the other animal activists looking for poster men and women to humiliate!…just not a good idea!
